GOC's Annual Outdoor Gathering 2026 will be held from Friday 24th to Monday 27th July at Warwick University.

Accommodation

The deadline for booking accommodation and meals is 12th June 2026.

Accommodation on campus will consists of a mixture of the following:

• Single ensuite rooms in Bluebell student accommodation
• Twin/double ensuite rooms in the Scarman Hotel

All accommodation includes:

• Free Car Parking ( pre-registration required)
• Free Guest Wifi
• Breakfast
• Complimentary access to sports facilities including gym and pool

Service level in Bluebell student accommodation includes:

• Duvet, bottom sheet and two pillows on bed
• Bath towel, hand towel, bathmat and wrapped soap
• Tea and coffee making facilities in all rooms
• One kitchen available per floor
• Irons & ironing boards in kitchens
• Bedroom & Bathroom daily service to consist of empty bins, make bed, replenish tea/coffee, toilet roll and check of bathroom
• Signage to indicate room cleaning not required.

Service level in the Scarman hotel includes all usual hotel facilities including:

• One double bed or two single beds - you will be required to choose when you book
• Desk and flat-screen TV
• Hairdryer and complimentary toiletries
• Tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits

Entertainment

Evening entertainment will take place at the Slate, where evening meals will also be served.

Our main entertainment will be a disco on the Saturday evening, for which there will be no specific charge, the cost being absorbed as part of our overall expenditure for staging the AOG.

There will also be a quiz on the Sunday evening.

Outdoor activities

Bookings for outdoor activities will open on Monday 25th May 2026.  When they are open, they will appear on the AOG Group page.

We are offering a choice of walks for everyone on both the Saturday and Sunday that range from easy to challenging, plus there is a women’s-only walk on the Saturday; We hope to offer cycle rides on both the Saturday and the Sunday. There will also be garden visits on the Friday afternoon, the Saturday and Monday mornings.

This year we are not putting on a Sunday coach trip but we are arranging a visit to Leamington Spa Town which can be reached by bus from the University Campus. The current cost of the bus day ticket is £6.30. The Georgian and Victorian architecture combined with the wonderful Jephson Gardens and Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum are well worth the visit. There are great eateries and the town has a great atmosphere. There is the bonus that people would be free to make their return to the University earlier if they require.

So there really will be something for everybody!

Numbers on outdoor events will be limited and you will need to book separately for each.

If you plan to book outdoor activities but no rooms or meals, please click BOOK on this page to book a free 'AOG communications' ticket.  That will ensure that you are included on the main AOG attendee list on this page, and that you receive important communications sent to all attendees.

Booking for another member

If you want to book for someone who is not already on your Friends list in My GOC, you will need to add them first.

To add a friend to your list, simply visit their profile page (from a Group members list, or an event attendance list), and click to request to be added as a friend. They will receive an email inviting them to accept your request.
