We are a friendly group of about 10 to 13 regular members, who generally meet once a month for a walk, occasionally more than that. The length of our walks varies from about 5 miles in the winter up to 14 miles for some summer walks. If there is sufficient interest, we can arrange other activities such as Cycling and Swimming.
The area our group members come from is North as far as Alnwick and South as far as York. We are never short of places to walk, we have some wonderful areas for walking, the Yorkshire Dales and Moors, Cleveland Hills and Northumberland.
A different member of the group leads the walk each month. This generally decides where the walk will be. We can try to arrange transport for anyone who does not have any, but this generally depends on where they live.
You will need to have a pair of stout walking boots, wet weather clothing, most of our walks need you to bring a packed lunch and something to drink.
The North East Group Coordinators are Ivor Rose and George Theaker. You can contact them by sending a message via the link at the bottom of this page.
