Welcome to
the Gay Outdoor Club

The activity & social club for everyone in the LGBTQ+ community across Great Britain.

The Gay Outdoor Club is for everyone in the LGBTQI+ community who wants to enjoy outdoor activities – see Inclusion and Diversity

GOC is a members club and a charity – no one is paid for their role in it, and no-one makes a profit from it. Every member is encouraged to play a part in running the club, perhaps by organising an event, by helping to run a group or by serving on the committee – see Governance & Committee members and Getting involved with running the GOC.

GOC is the oldest and largest outdoors club in the UK for everyone in the LGBTQI+ community, founded in 1974 – see Our history

To many of our members, GOC is more than just a walking group – they have found enduring friendships and the opportunity to get out and do events that they otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance to.

GOC consists of about 40 groups, which are either geographically based or specialise in a type of activity (e.g. climbing), and all events are organised through one of those groups. GOC groups are run by one or more coordinators who schedule their events, are available to answer questions about their group and welcome new people.

If you have any particular access needs, or any other questions about our groups and events, please  message the relevant co-ordinator via the group page or contact us.

For further information on how the club is run, see also our Documents, Guidelines, Procedures and Information section. If you are interested to get involved in helping to run the club, please contact us to let us know your interest!

If you have not joined yet, why not join now?

Find and connect with us on social media, and so help us to connect others with GOC and you and other members with each other.

Please do contact us with any queries, feedback or suggestions – we will be glad to hear from you!
