Welcome to the West of England Group
This group covers Bristol, Bath and the surrounding counties of Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Somerset, skirted by the Bristol Channel, the Cotswolds, the Wiltshire Downs and the Blackdown Hills. This area has a good variety of terrain, rolling hills, flatlands, high heath, quaint urban and coastal sights to explore. This new group was launched in March 2025 to replace the previous Somerset and Wiltshire, Gloucestershire & North Somerset groups.
Join us on our regular events. Our aim is a routine of four events per month:
A longer walk of about seven miles on the:
- First Sunday of the month in north and easterly districts and
- Fourth Sunday of the month in southerly districts
A short-and-easy walk with an optional meal together in a local hostelry on the:
- Second Friday in southerly districts and
- Third Friday in north and easterly districts.
We also have an outline plan for an annual weekend away in the Quantocks or the Cotswolds.
