Welcome to the West of England Group
The group covers Bristol, Bath, and the surrounding counties of Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and Somerset. Bordered by the Bristol Channel, the Cotswolds, the Wiltshire Downs, and the Blackdown Hills, it offers varied scenery, from rolling hills and flatlands to heath, towns, and coast. The group was launched in March 2025, replacing formerly neighbouring groups, (1) Somerset and (2) Wiltshire, Gloucestershire & North Somerset.
Join our regular events.
- A longer walk of about seven miles on:
- First Sunday of the month in north and easterly districts and
- Fourth Sunday of the month in southerly districts
- A short, easy walk with an optional meal at a local pub on at least one weekday per month.

All members are welcome to lead a walk or run an event, either ad hoc or as part of the core schedule. If you have a favourite walk to share, please get in touch—we’d love to hear from you.
