Welcome to GOC Transpennine.

We are a large and highly active group based in the North of England. Our region covers a vast swathe of interesting and diverse landscape stretching coast to coast. We include Lancashire and Cheshire in the west and Yorkshire in the east. This gives us access to a fantastic playground covering the Pennines, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. We also include Greater Manchester and Merseyside.

We organise a large selection of interesting walks and cycle rides of varied length and difficulty throughout the year. Our weekend walks take place on either Saturday or Sunday. We also run our mid-week Tuesday Trekking northern programme on the second Tuesday of each month for those who have time in the week. For the more adventurous there are monthly hostel or camping weekends where members can socialise and enjoy visiting areas further afield such as the Lake District and North Wales. As a result our 2019 programme includes nearly 60 events.

Our friends at Northern Wave Swimming Club run swimming evenings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays in Manchester.

Above all our Guests can expect a warm welcome at our Events. Those wishing to join us can obtain full details by clicking the Join Now button at the bottom of this page.

The Group Coordinator for Transpennine is Jim Armitage who is assisted by Rob and Pete for the Saturday Cheshire walks and Sarah and Simon for the other events.

Finally, come and join us, we'd love to meet you.
