Woodland delight: a 10 mile circular walk around Chipperfield and Bovingdon
A delightful 10-mile circular walk, mainly through woodlands, from Chipperfield, Apsley, Felden and Bovingdon.
Starting in the picturesque village of Chipperfield 5 miles southwest of Hemel Hempstead, we cross a couple of gates and stiles and skirt Shendish Manor and gold club with its immaculate greens. Thereafter bypassing Apsley towards Hemel Hempstead but observing it from above. On a clear day, the views can be spectacular. Our walk then skirts the village of Feldon and towards Bovingdon returning to Chipperfield.
Bring packed lunch, plenty of water and something to sit on.
Wear sturdy boots, trainers will not suffice for this walk.
Optional pub stop at the end of the route.
The meeting point is distant from public transport and will require a taxi or a lift from a railway station.
