The July 2024 Herts GOC walk will be a circular walk of about 9 miles around the little village of Great Gaddesden located in the Chiltern Hills, north of Hemel Hempstead. Gaddesden also boarders Nettleden and Little Gaddesden and also Studham and therefore we pass through a part of Central Bedfordshire.

The parts of the walk will be shaded in full-leaf woodland, protecting us from anticipated July sunshine, other parts of the walk will be exposed. The walk offers glorious views of rolling curves of countryside, a mixture of agricultural land under crop fields, typical of north-west Herts and the wee bit of South Beds we will traverse and leave a footprint. Note too all of it lies within the Chilterns and note its surroundings are often quoted as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Wear sturdy boots.  Bring packed lunch, lots of water and something to sit on.

At the end of the walk, I plan to offer cold and hot drinks to celebrate 50 years of the GOC cakes. Update on that the week before the outing.
