A post Christmas moorland ramble on mostly stony tracks.  It is easily accessible by train and bus although quite remote.  If weather is very poor then it can be modified to a lower level route on local lanes and we can shelter in the pub or church if need be.  Birdlife can be quite varied and woodpeckers have been seen recently.
