Gardens: visit to National Trust Llanerchaeron near Aberystwyth 26 April 2024

The sun came out as friends old and new congregated in the car park for our visit to the Ceredigion’s National Trust property at Llanerchaeron. We had a number of new members join us on their first GOC event and they were given a warm welcome.

Neil gave a brief introduction to the Estate before people set off to explore the grounds, seeng fowl, farm animals and a fine collection of old farm equipment. Some walked to the lake, whilst others took in the walled garden, admiring the gnarled trunks of ancient fruit trees as well as other garden features.

Lots of chatting and comradery as we later walked around the interesting house. Most people rounded off the visit with refreshments in the café. It was a most enjoyable day with great company in lovely surroundings.

Many contact details were exchanged and promises made to meet up again at future events. Plans for another event are already underway.

Details will be posted on the GOC Gardens Group page.
