A lovely walk around the parish of Cartmel Fell, including the highest "peak" (321 metres, 1053 feet) of the south-east quadrant of the Lake District National Park - Gummer's How. The countryside is stunning here, with fantastic views of Windermere (England's longest lake), and over the Winster Valley to the limestone country of Westmorland, and towards the higher Lake District fells (on a clear day). With any luck, wild daffodils will be a recurrent theme of this walk, dependant of some early Spring warmth - oh, and perhaps the first lambs?
