Swiss valley reservoirs, Furnace ponds and Parc Howard, Llanelli
From the car park we walk down to the Cwm Lliedi reservoir, then beside the River Lliedi, on a lovely green path to Felinfoel, exploring the statue to rugby legend Phil Bennett, and the baptism pool along the way.
If the weather is good we can veer off the route to explore Parc Howard, a museum and park, before heading towards Trebeddod Reservoir (now known locally as “Furnace Pond”).
The route continues on St Illtyd's way, on a lovely woodland track which could be muddy, beside the river and a climb up to a country road.
We continue on the the road, still St Illtyd's way, before dropping down to the reservoir and a tarmac path back to the car park.
If the weather is nice there is a cafe with outdoor seating at the reservoir or a garden centre with an indoor cafe less than a 5 minute drive away.
