Solent/Dorset/Wiltshire – Salisbury to Old Sarum

Event Details

A winter walk leaving central Salisbury to walk along the River Avon and up to the remains of the original C12th Cathedral and Castle (English Heritage) and of the "Rotten Borough" of Pitt the Elder at Old Sarum before walking to Harnham Mill and crossing the ancient water meadows where Constable painted the famous views of the Cathedral. There are two small inclines/slopes to climb which may be slippery if wet. The walk may be shortened by 1 mile for those deciding not to walk the outer ring of Old Sarum.
