Penclawdd and Crofty
This is a 5 mile approx. moderate walk, mainly on the higher ground above Penclawdd, so there
will be ups and downs but giving great views down to Whiteford and out over the Loughor Estuary
and Burry Port.
There will be some wet patches and some mud, but there is lots of walking on this route that
involves firmer ground underfoot and some pavement walking.
There is a climb at the start on tarmac and some further undulating ground making our way towards
Hermon chapel.
There are some narrow paths on this map, but not vertiginous.
If the weather is kind we will do a loop down to Salthouse point in Crofty. As this area is quite
exposed, if the weather is not very good, we will detour over to St Gwynno's church towards the
start of the walk, instead.
We then loop back to Hermon and then on a different path, leading down past some playing fields
and back down to the centre of Penclawdd.
