This pleasant and interesting circular walk starts and finishes at Monkton outside the medieval church in Monkton.

The walk mixes magnificent views of Milford Haven waterway, lovely deciduous woodland, and sites of historical and architectural interest, including Monkton

Church, Pembroke Castle and Mill Pond, plus the Victorian town and dockyard of Pembroke Dock which is overlooked by the magnificent Defensible Barracks.  

We will walk towards Pembroke Dock and enjoy superb views of the Milford Haven waterway.

We make our way to Pennar and Barrack hill giving stunning views, then past the Defensive barracks and a fort.

The terrain includes minor road walking, plus grass, gravel and muddy paths.

This set route is 5 miles but the intention is to explore extra bits just off the route, in this very interesting and historical area.
