Marston Vale Walk - based on the Timberland trail - 14mi
The Marston Vale Walk is one of the occasional longer walks provided by the group. Set in a site of special scientific interest (SSSI), the walk will be mostly on footpaths and bridleways. Expect mud if rainy. There are also some short steep stretches.
Among interesting features in the area are the Rectory Wood which was begun in 2003 and finished in 2013. It is home to many butterflies including the Black Hairstreak which enjoys oak and blackthorns which were planted here in abundance
St Mary's Church, a 14th century church has a detached 70 ft tower which is listed grade1, and unusual in the east of England.
Facilities - Cafe and toilets at Forest Centre. Also pub/shops in Marston Moretaine And Cranfield.
