This is the West Wales walk, one week earlier than normal due to Bank holiday when Margam may be busy with
events.
It's a 6 - 7 mile figure of eight walk, where it is hoped there will be fabulous carpets of bluebells!!
We start off in a lovely woodland, Graig Fawr on a path that is easy in parts and stony in others, and there are 3 or 4
areas that will be a bit wet and muddy even if the weather has been dry.
It is a steady incline, then we join the inland Wales coast path.
This involves a steepish climb on made steps up to a high level path with fantastic views out over Port Talbot, the coast
and over to Swansea.
An incredible vantage point.
The path undulates and then through another woodland and down to a lovely abandoned chapel, where we will have
a stop for refreshments/lunch depending on the time.
We then go deer spotting in Margam park proper, with another loop in the park itself, seeing the Abbey and grounds
and then, going high up, on a grassy bank or earth track, up to another panoramic viewpoint before dropping
down and looping around and returning to the start, hopefully spotting some deer on route.
With or without bluebells this is a very lovely walk.
