Llys-y-frân reservoir and Henry’s Moat “loop”
As the name suggests, this walk takes us around the reservoir.
We will set off in a westerly direction from the visitor centre located at the south end of the reservoir, meaning that we will walk round the lake in a clockwise direction.
At the north end of the reservoir we will leave the circular walk and follow a footpath climbing through wooded landscape and fields , working our way up to St. Bernard's Well (not as grand as it sounds!) and on up to a quiet country lane where we turn left.
There should be good views of the reservoir from up here.
Following the lane we turn left again and descend to Henry's Moat and from there back on down to the reservoir where we re-join the circular walk and return to the point of departure.
There we can enjoy coffee and cake at the Lakeview Café (closes at 4.30PM).
You can see full details of the reservoir here http://www.llys-y-fran.co.uk
***The full walk is 10.8 miles with the reservoir being 6.5 miles and the loop 4.3 miles
so people will have the option on the day of doing the add on, or continuing around the reservoir only.
Full details are available to members only
