Llandrindod Wells Lake Park – part of the All Wales Weekend

Event Details

This is a moderate, circular walk of five and a half miles, with some more strenuous shorter sections, from and to Llandrindod Wells Lake Park.   The route is quite undulating with numerous gradual climbs and descents, some more significant than others over short distances, and runs through numerous woods, copses, open fields with panoramic views, lanes and meadows, and provides an interesting and varied walk.  At 'Shaky Bridge', halfway around (the original wire bridge across the river Ithon was dangerously shaky), we will stop for lunch at Bailey Einon Nature Reserve, where there will be an opportunity to take a short detour to the grass covered ruins of Cefnllys Castle and the 14th century, Church of St Michael.

10 am start.  Fifteen minute drive from Rhayader.
