Clougha Pike and Grit Fell
Clough Pike is the westernmost top of the Bowland Fells and is an outlying top of Ward's Stone - the highest hill in the range. The hill has a gritstone edge and has fine views of Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland Fells beyond. Grit fell is a highpoint on the billowy moorland between Clougha Pike and Ward's Stone.
A fairly short 7 mile walk on rough terrain which can boggy on the moor after wet periods. A steady climb to the fine viewpoint of Clougha Pike (413m). Some rough moorland takes you to Grit Fell (468m) where an easy descent takes you to Jubilee Tower. The return paths through pastoral farmland are a pleasure to walk.
Note that dogs are not allowed on this walk because it goes on privately owned grouse moors where dogs are specifically prohibited by the owner.
Numbers on this walk are limited to 20.
