A new departure for the Gardens Group – a Getaway – having a multi day trip to garden events in the same area, so that people living a bit further afield (or should be agarden?)  can get in a few garden visits, making the journey more worthwhile. Obviously, those living locally very welcome to join us too!

Our first Getaway destination is around Taunton in Somerset on June 19th -21st. Whilst Hestercombe, our destination on the Saturday, is probably the best known, we also have two visits on Friday and Sunday.

Friday we have two gardens - Piet Oudolf Field and East Lambrook - the former home of Margery Fish.

Sunday also gives us two very different NT gardens, Lytes Cary and Tintinhull, .

If people wish to extend their visits an explore further under their own steam, several other gardens on note in the area, including  The Newt

If this idea proves popular, we may try more Getaways elsewhere. So come on up the garden path & help to make this event a success!
