
GARDENS: GORSLAS, CAMARTHENSHIRE
Join us on a charity open day for the National Garden Scheme (NGS) to visit two adjoining gardens situated on the A476 Llandeilo Road, approximately 2 miles north of the Cross Hands roundabout in Camarthenshire,
The first garden Cefn Amlwg provides a mix of neat and tidy manicured lawn and ornamental beds with colour, planted to attract bees and butterflies. A large fish pond, raised vegetable beds, fruit cage and seating areas. A summerhouse allows you to sit and soak in the delights, the lawn leads your eyes to explore the beautifully laid out garden. Cleverly designed structures add interest.
The second garden at Moelfryn is an organic and environmentally friendly garden with a herb labyrinth, cottage garden borders, vegetable beds and tunnels, fruit cages, orchard, small wildflower meadow area, shrubs, small wooded/wild patch, hens, hedgehog house, bug hotels, bird boxes and bat boxes, small pond and bog garden. Interesting arches, and a collection of 50 varieties of mints.
The entry fee for the two properties combined is £6, (cash only). Home made teas are available.
Dogs are allowed on short leads and there are usually plants for sale.
