Garden visit – final event for the AOG in Canturbury.  The spectacular Chilham Castle is built on the site of a medieval castle - the current Jacobean mansion was built in 1616. Since then, the house (not open) and grounds have been lovingly restored, and offer sweeping views of the surrounding 300 acres of private parkland.

The grounds were landscaped in the 18th and 19th centuries and include formal and ornamental gardens around the castle. Entrance fee £6 – cash only.

Following the garden visit, there is the option of looking around the pretty village and/or going to the tearoom or pub in the village.
