Drumau mountain, including Carreg Bica
NB This is a walk in a similar area led by Rob and Lee last Easter but please note, it is a different route and we will climb to the top of Drumau mountain.
This is a 6 - 7 mile moderate walk, starting on greenery at the back of the pub, and continuing by the River Clydach and to the Longford area.
A climb up through Maesmelin wood brings us to a viewpoint about half way up the mountain where we will have a stop.
Another steady climb brings us to the top and we will have fantastic views down to the Neath and surrounding area.
NB the climb in total is about 40 minutes but on a good wide path.
If the weather is good we will have our lunch on the top.
***There may be animals on the large open area at the top and if that's the case, dogs on leads please.
An undulating path brings us to Carreg Bica, a standing stone and from there we follow the forestry track down and through Dyffryn wood back to the start.
Refreshments available at the end.
***Locals erect a cross on the top of the mountain at Easter so we hope to be able to see that on the day.
