Cwmdonkin park, Rosehill Quarry and Bryn Y Don park, Swansea - short summer evening walk
***Please note this walk is all about the views so if the weather is bad I will postpone it to the following Monday 21st August.
This is a walk with a view or multiple views all over the Swansea area.
Locals don't always know of these lovely green places and spaces that are inter weaved into our local communities.
We start with a tour of Cwmdonkin park, associated with Dylan Thomas, then climb the area known as 100 steps, don't worry I think there are only 85!!
At the top we will be on Pantycelyn road and we will proceed to Rosehill quarry, a community woodland which has a very interesting history.
You may want to watch a 6 minute youtube video, with music about it

UNLOCKED: Rosehill – Angharad Jenkins and Rosehill Quarry Group, Swansea - YouTube
We then proceed to Mayhill, passed the washing pond and the round school, that you see on the hill from the City centre, and which has fantastic views, and then into Bryn y Don park.
We return via Terrace road, The Mansion house and St James gardens back to Cwmdonkin park.
There are most definitely ups on this walk but the rewards make up for the huff and puff!!
The quarry could be muddy but lots of the walk is on tarmac.
