On Saturday 17th January Basil and Bruce will lead a moderate walk between seven and 8 miles from Arnside to Silverdale and back.

Depending on the tide, we will start by going up Arnside Knott , a relatively steep short climb, with superb views over Morecambe Bay.

We then descend over the limestone pavement towards Silverdale with a chance for refreshments here, or packed lunch on the beach before walking back along the coast.

Please note that there are some steep drops along the cliffs for about 150 yards. A mile before we get back to the cars at Arnside, there is a chance to stop at a local café with outdoor seating.

Please meet at the pier in Arnside at 10:30 am. There is parking along the promenade nearby. The pier is a five minute walk from Arnside train station where there are direct trains to and from Windermere and Manchester.
