Another route march – Slough to London

Event Details

Following on from the November route march from Maida Vale to Hackney via Ally Pally, the next one will be Slough back to the Westbourne Park area of Maida Vale with the end point being a pub not far from Westbourne Park tube station.

As  a reminder these are fast paced walks, and probably not for everyone.   This one is dead flat with the occassional canal bridge to cross.  The average GOC walk is at about 2mph due to mud, styles, gates, fences, and general picture stops and things to see.  This walk will have a walking pace of 4mph and an average well above 3mph after stops.

The total distance is about 22 miles, most likely done with in segments of about 6 miles, then 4 miles, then 7 miles (lunch time) and on to the finish.  The details are available in the members section.

Note the first 5 miles is rougher then normal / unimproved muddy canal tow path.  The final 18 miles is greatly improved tow path that is fine for all walkers and can be done in trainers.   I recommend boots for the first section.
