  • TerrainAlthough much of the walk is on good level paths there are a few sections where we have to go up or down steep slopes or steps, particularly at the start of the walk where the path climbs down some old and rather uneven stone steps and then up a steep sandy bank. There are a couple of high stone stiles on route and some short sections of the path are partially overgrown with brambles, bracken and nettles.

This is a lovely but moderately strenuous walk along part of the beautiful Gower coast, through the historic Penrice Estate, passing between its lovely C18th mansion and the much older C13th ruins of Penrice Castle.  After which it climbs gradually up onto the ridge line of Cefn Bryn that forms the backbone of the Gower.  On a clear day there are spectacular views north to the Loughor Estuary and Brecon Beacons and south to Three Cliffs and Oxwich Bays and the North Devon coast beyond.
