A new departure for the Gardens Group – a Getaway – having a multi day trip to garden events in the same area, so that people living a but further afield (or should be agarden?)  can get in a few garden visits, making the journey more worthwhile. Obviously, those living locally very welcome to join us too!

Our first Getaway destination is around Taunton in Somerset on June 20/21. Whilst Hestercombe, our destination on the Saturday, is probably the best known, we also have two very different NT gardens, Lytes Cary and Tintinhull, on the Sunday.

If people wish to extend their visits an explore further under theor own steam, several other gardens on note in the area, including the late  Margery Fish’s  in East Lambrook  and Forde Abbey

We will be staying in Chard so if anyone else is in the area, meeting up informally for a drink or food on the Saturday may be an option.

If this idea proves popular, we may try more, longer such Getaways elsewhere. So come on up the garden path & help to make this event a success!
