Springtime in Sandy, Bedfordshire (9 miles)
April the month of the Dawn Chorus. A fitting month to visit the RSBP Sandy Lodge.
Approx 9 miles with many ascents/descents from 90 to 200 ft.
Come enjoy a ramble through the historical Sandy Heath including transmitter (ground control to !!!!). We will predominantly walk along trails which are enhanced with trees, shrubbery, heather at Sandy Lodge, HQ for RSPB who are restoring the area to it's former habitat - pre 1800's.
The RSPB HQ at Sandy Lodge is organic and no peat is used. The area truly inspires people to make their own gardens and outdoor spaces wonderful places for wildlife.
Bring binocular's - you might see a lesser crested or spotted <<>>> or hear the woodpeckers up in the tree canopy.
NB: Dogs are not permitted at RSPB
The meeting point is accessible by public transport.
Bring a packed lunch, plenty of water, and something to sit on.
This event is also advertised on Meetup.
Full details are available to members only
