NT Rufford Old Hall near Ormskirk – part of AOG weekend

Event Details

Booking for AOG events open on 1st June.

Chosen as good stopping off point for those travelling to the AOG by car from the south, this interesting Tudor house and colourful garden is home to five centuries of Lancashire family history.

The gardens at Rufford Old Hall showcase lots of variety, from giant squirrel-shaped topiary and resident bees, to picnic spots in the Orchard Paddock and peaceful moments by the canal. Inside, displays include suits of armour in the Great Hall and a  series of botanical colours of Ellen Stevens in the Dressing Room, so there is plenty to see inside and outside.

Option of meeting up for lunch prior to a short stroll around the small grounds and adjacent canal, or just join us for the stroll. There is also an interesting church nearby to visit.

There are sometimes talks in the house – they are subject to volunteer availability but normally take place between 12pm and 2pm - exact timings will be advertised on the day in the Coach House.

Admission is free for NT members – otherwise from £12.
