SOLENT – Beaulieu to Bucklers Hard

On a cloudy but dry day a total of 15 attendees plus 2 dogs set out from the village of Beaulieu to walk along the River Beaulieu taking in both North and South Woodland Walks and a Bird Hide to pass the busy Shipyards - originally building ships for Henry VIII - before exploring the quaint Georgian Houses and Museum of Bucklers Hard. Pausing for Coffee and a Picnic stop, a further short short Woodland Walk beckoned before we strolled back to Beaulieu viewing the many yachts on the River. At 5.5 miles it was a perfect Febuary walk without the normal obligatory winter mud or rain.

We were then all invited back to the home of John, our Leader, who laid on a sumptious tea of Sandwiches, Scones, Trifle and a wonderful Apple Crumble so the health benefits of the walk were soon dissipated meaning that joining next months walk is now a neccessity!
