As well as lovely gardens, the warm welcome from their owners and helpers made for a great visit. As we gathered, we chatted with some who were leaving, fulsome in their praise for what they had seen. They we not lying! The gardens were quite varied, reflecting the tastes of their owners, but all were obvious labours of love. From pristine, not a weed in sight, to more relaxed, nature friendly spaces, all interesting in their own way. A strong sense of community was obvious – evidenced by the way everyone worked well together. Nice also to hear lots of Welsh being spoken.
It was especially good to visit Pip’s & Jacqu’s stained glass studio – talented is an understatement. I especially liked the piece with the red kite – see photo.
After our tour of the gardens, the mandatory refreshments were sampled, and tasty they were too. The ladies (yes, it was all ladies!) serving the teas & lush cakes certainly got their steps in yesterday! We lingered until the end, chatting amiably, talking about what we had seen and enjoying each other’s company. Plans were discussed for meeting again at future events.
