On a sunny and light cloudy morning 25 of us met at the car park in Wareham forest. After we had sorted out the difficult parking due to the number of cars we headed into the forest, unfortunately missing the Arboretum due to it being flooded. While passing through Lower Hyde heath to be encountered by a giraffe. We then crossed Stroud Bridge into Bloxworth Heath. After a short walk we came to Woolsbarrow Hillfort our picnic spot with its views over the forest. Woolsbarrow Hillfort dates to the period from the late bronze age to the Early Iron Age (8th–5th centuries BC) and is classed as an ancient monument standing 67 m high. After lunch we headed back past Oak Hill to our cars. Some of us went to the Silent Woman pub after the walk for a well earned drink sitting in the pub garden in the afternoon sun,
