In sunny, though quite cool conditions, 9 members, one visitor and one honorary canine member met up at Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground.
We set off along the well-trimmed grass of the rec, with fine views to the north and glimpses of Wimborne and its minster. A stretch of quiet road led to a permissive path along a section of the disused Somerset and Dorset railway line. We tried to ignore the adjacent A31 and to enjoy the alpacas, bluebells and may blossom we saw along the way.
Up hill and down dale next, passing 2 farmhouses, the second of which has been the home of the Knoll Farm pentecostal/evangelical church for over 30 years. We took advantage of their outdoor benches for a short rest and photo opp before climbing back up the road to our starting point.
Afterwards, most of us repaired to the nearby Lambs Green Inn for well-earned refreshments.
