On an overcast but warm day our band of 15 set off from Milborne Port through the woods towards Purse Caundel.
Having stopped for coffee on reaching the pretty village, we visited the church and completed a short circuit of the surrounding area admiring a large display of wild orchids.
A couple of rain showers (which were most welcome after a long dry spell) did not deter our return via the tiny hamlet of Goathill (tchnically a village as it has a church).
On reaching Milborne Port everyone retreated to the leader's house for tea, with some fresh scones kindly baked by Steve.
