Twelve members navigated there way through narrow country lanes in South Devon to explore a magical hidden gem.
The Italian Garden at Great Ambrook (www.theitaliangarden.org.uk) was a fascinating glimpse into the past with a surprise and delight around every twist of the path. The 'new' garden around the holiday let was a lovely oasis and a wonderful contrast to the historic garden around it.
We were expertly guided by David who really brought the social history to life. It was interesting to consider the lives of those who lived and visited here when the garden was created.
With lots of restoration work still to do the garden provides a mix of restored and unrestored areas but in all areas a sense of peace and solitude. We certainly intend to visit again!
Definitely worth checking their website for full information if you would like to visit!
