The Italian Garden - a clandestine chapter of social history. Now FULLY BOOKED

Event Details

This is a rare opportunity to visit The Italian Garden at Great Ambrook near Ipplepen in Devon.

As the website says:

The Italian Garden at Great Ambrook is exciting and unique for so many reasons.  Captivating to visitors, skilfully designed and constructed, it also conceals many mysteries.  The garden is a window into a historically less tolerant society where homosexual men were driven to seclusion and a secret life.

The visit takes approximately two hours and is led by one of our knowledgeable volunteer guides who will share fascinating stories about the history of the garden, its original owner and architect, and our restoration plans.

More information about the garden can be found on the website: The Italian Garden, Great Ambrook, Devon

The garden is only available to visit by prior appointment and places are limited. Tickets cost £7.50 and are limited to 12 people per tour group. We have booked a tour for 11am on Thursday 19th September.

Please only book on this event if you are sure you are able to come as we are limited to 12 places only.

Payment for tickets needs to be made by 30th June either to me on a walk or by sending a cheque to me. If paying by cheque please contact me for the address. Cheques need to be made payable to Roy Stephenson.
