Ramble the glorious Somerset countryside by Witham Friary, near Frome, Somerset. This is an 8.5 mile walk, which you should find very pleasant. The walk takes in a range of field and woodland paths, the site of a Carthusian priory, its fishponds and an allegedly Roman road. There should be good views from the higher ground. This walk is just where the former Wilts/Glos/N.Som Group area met the former Somerset Group area, now combined to form the area of the new West of England Group.

The finishing touch is that Bill is hoping to lead us to refreshments at a pub little changed since it was built in the 1890's.
