  • TerrainThis is a mostly flat walk with one upward metal flight of steps from the riverside to the canal towpath. Otherwise there is a mixture of town pavements and the riverside path which might have a little mud in parts so suitable footwear is advised.

A circular walk showing contrasting parts of the historic County town of Warwick. In the morning we will explore the sights and notable buildings of the town centre including the magnificent castle, Lord Leycester's Hospital and the substantial parish church of St Marys with some commentary from the walk leader. After lunch the route will follow the riverside path along the Avon and returning along the town section of theGrand Union Canal.
