This moderate walk explores the Upper Don Valley, where a chain of three reservoirs were built in the late 19th century to provide drinking water for the growing populations of Sheffield and Barnsley.

Starting from Langsett Barn, managed by the Peak National Park, we circuit the upper reservoirs through woodland and over wild moorland before heading downstream past the middle reservoir to Midhopestones. The return is along a dismantled railway (built for the construction of the reservoirs).

Refreshments available at the end of the walk.

Equipment:  walking boots, waterproof jacket and trousers, warm clothing. Trekking pole(s) recommended if normally used.
