Figure of 8 walk starting and finishing in Scampton village.  The first loop is approximately 3.2 miles (5.1km) heading north through Aisthorpe village and returning past Scampton church.  Here there are 107 Commonwealth War graves and, in the church itself, an RAF Scampton Commemorative stained glass window dedicated recently in 2022.

After lunch in the bus stop  (which has ample seating) the afternoon walk will head south to North Carlton village.  Distance approximately 4 miles (6.4 km).

We return to this layby .... which is close to the Dambusters inn for those who would like to explore more RAF memorabilia.

Most of the walk is on tracks, quiet roads or footways next to roads.  The stretch along Tilbridge Lane, which is a fast, straight road, has a very wide verge.
