Public art from Docklands to Greenwich
A point-to-point walk up to 10 miles long, being a wander around the outdoor public art in the Docklands area, followed by a walk along the North Thames path to the Greenwich foot tunnel and a walk round Greenwich to find more outdoor public art. The exact route shall be determined on the day, depending on timing, possibly taking in the Greenwich Observatory.
The walk is an easy walk on pavements, including flights of steps, with a possible hill in Greenwich.
Wear comfortable footwear. Have windproofs and waterproofs to hand (the canyon effect of high-rise buildings can make it even more breezy than usual along the river).
Bring packed lunch and water: there are no planned stopping points to buy food en route.
This route is a continuation of 12 Mar 2022.
An optional pub stop follows the walk, but pre-booking is required. Please contact the walk leader from this page to book your place on/before Tue 07Nov2023.
Travel disruption to the start point is going to be a thing. Please take note of the travelling guidance in the members' section of this event advert.
Walk leader John has listed the expected art works. The list is available at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VV0d9eH5t4OG_Wtp21O8TGe0-yXoqkP7/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=114688936897168285059&rtpof=true&sd=true . Please bring a copy of the list with you; printouts will not be available on the day.
