A varied walk (half) through a nature reserve, fields, and  woodland and (half) through National Trust parkland with views over the Cheshire Plain and the distant skyscrapers of Man(hatten)chester. Avoiding well-used paths and other walkers whenever possible. The walk through Lyme Park can be extended by 2 miles to reach higher parts depending on weather and wishes of the party on the day.
