A nice flat 7.5 mile walk through the farming countryside to the west of Darlington.

From Piercebridge we will head north following field paths and farm tracks to reach the edge of Summerhouse where we will stop for a coffee break.

We then continue mainly on farm tracks but with some road walking on quiet roads heading roughly southwest until we reach Gainford where we will have lunch on the village green.

A little more road walking takes us out of the village to join the Teesdale Way which we will follow by the river back to our start point.
