Starting at New Mills railway station, this circular walk starts with a fairly stiff climb up to Mellor Moor and a hidden trig point (open access land) with excellent views of Manchester and the Peak District.

The route keeps to high ground with more spectacular views over to the Kinder Scout plateau before another (short) ascent up Lantern Pike (optional), then descends to The Torrs riverside walk, and the Millenium Bridge, before returning to New Mills for coffee and cake (location TBA).

Note: This walk is on Easter Sunday.
Typically The Peak District is very busy on bank holidays, but this route is likely to be quieter than the more popular places.
