OXFORD DURING THE CIVIL WAR 22nd Aug 1642 – 3rd Sept 1651

Event Details

Another wander around the centre of OXFORD CITY, with another Andrew D (not to be confused with Andrew W - who is leading our "Annual Art and Museums trail in January 24).

Andrew has been busy researching the valuable history of the City contributed to THE ENGLISH CIVIL WAR - 1642-1651 - when King CHARLES I brought the Royal Court from London, even setting up the countries mint. Andrew even explores the changing respect for Gay Rights during the period.

We meet again at the Railway Station - 10.30am - close to were the City Defences started. Lunch will be again at "Kings Arms PH, (PostCode OX13SP), corner of Holywell St, Park Rd, Broad Street.
