A walk around the historic sites of Stirling from the university campus

This is a shortened version of the Stirling Town walks that will be run on both the Saturday and Sunday of the AOG.  We will catch a bus from the university to the bus station or meet in the town centre.  The walk will visit the old town of Stirling, including streets with medieval buildings, the historic cemetery and the castle .

We will finish the tour at Old Stirling Bridge (site of the eponymous battle and the famous victory over the English by William Wallace in 1297) possibly visiting Gowanhill and the Beheading Stone en route if time and energy permit.  We will then return to the campus by bus.

The route has a couple of steep flights of steps and there are some hills, but will be on good paved or gravel paths throughout, except possibly for some short sections on dirt paths .  Wear suitable shoes and clothing for the weather conditions.
