Set in rural Northamptonshire Canons Ashby was a 13th century religious Priory, which fell foul of the Reformation. Only the church remains from this. Stones from this lavish priory were used to build the Canon Ashby House about 500 years ago, and now a National Trust property.
Our walk is a circular walk of about 7 miles taking in local countryside and the nearby village of Moreton Pinkey. This is a beautiful village constructed with brown ironstone.
After the walk, we are likely to stop at Canons Ashby's cafe for a cuppa and maybe some cake.
Another option, there should also be time for people to visit the house (£11 if you are not an National Trust member)
