Coronavirus / Covid-19
Following recent changes in government advice regarding Covid-19 to avoid all non-essential travel and maintain social distancing, all walks and other activities are cancelled until the end of April.
We will continue to review the situation with regard to events beyond April. Further information can be found here, and will be udpated in due course.
Coronavirus Update 17 March 2020
Unfortunately we have had to cancel this event following the latest Government advice to cancel all but essential travel. The YHA have agreed to refund our group booking and I will ask the GOC Treasurer to refund those who booked through the GOC website. If you booked direct and want to cancel, please contact the YHA directly.
This event is now fully booked, but there may still be places if you want to make a direct booking with the hostel.
Join us for a weekend of walking, staying at a hostel in Ennerdale
Early booking is recommended it you want to reserve a place. Booking is easy using the booking option on this page of the website. The cost for a bed in a four bedded room (sharing with other GOC members) is £62 for the two nights.
There will be a longish walk on the Saturday, and we all expect to eat together probably at the hostel in the evening. A shorter walk will be arranged for the Sunday allowing a finish by mid-afternoon for those who have to travel.
There is cooking equipment and bedding is provided, but you will need to bring your own towel. The four bedded rooms are not pre-allocated single sex rooms, so please be aware that men and women may need to share.
People intending to take part in this event should read GOC's document Safety in the Hills.
