  • TerrainA moderate walk with several climbs and descents during the first half, followed by a generally level return beside the River Arun. The route uses pavements, surfaced tracks, chalk paths, grassy downland and riverside paths. Chalk and riverbank sections may be muddy or slippery after rain. There are approximately five stiles.

Join the Sussex and London groups for a scenic autumn walk through historic Arundel Park and the beautiful countryside surrounding South Stoke.

Starting in Arundel, we will leave the bustle of the town behind and climb into the former deer park, following attractive downland paths with extensive views across the Arun Valley and towards the South Downs. Our route continues through peaceful countryside to the small village of South Stoke before returning to Arundel beside the River Arun.

Arundel is famous for its magnificent castle and cathedral, and there will be opportunities to explore the town or enjoy refreshments after the walk.

New members and those attending their first GOC event will be made very welcome.
